Description

Here is the first compilation of all the artists (including myself), taking part in the first month of :iconlkhff:'s Monster Countdown to Halloween, as we all take a crack at redesigning Count Dracula.

:iconretrouniverseart: 's Dracula was designed as if the character's ethnicity was Arabic instead of European. And of course, like almost all of his OC's, just had to make him look like a bodybuilder. LOL

For my iteration of the classic character, I wanted to be a bit closer to the original Bram Stoker novel, yet still give it my own personal flare. He is described as having white hair and a mustache in the book, but I instead gave him a small goatee. And while he is also described as having red eyes, I decided to make them white to look more gaunt and supernatural. For his clothing, I was going to give him an inverness coat, but after careful thought, I decided to give him a cape, but rather than the collared opera cape made famous by Bela Lugosi's interpretation, I gave him a dark brown fur cape, for those cold nights in Transylvania. I also gave him a black double breasted frock coat, a red wine colored cravat around his neck, black stirrup pants, and black fingerless gloves.

:iconkylgrv:
did a gender-bent version of Dracula, making her Countess Dracula. Inspiration for this idea came when he first heard of this while watching the 2016 live action "Jungle Book," specifically when thinking about Kaa. For the design, he looked at a number of resources to see what he could do, though the main goal was to make her look seductive yet dangerous. She is a vampire after all.

:iconkingleolionheart:'s Dracula I guess was partly inspired by Coun Von Count from Sesame Street. All he drew was the head so I had to draw the rest of the body. :)

:iconmoheart7:'s Dracula  was partly inspired by Count Orlock from Nosferatu.

:iconmoartproductions: looked at
some reconstructions of Vlad the Impaler for reference, given how he was a source of inspiration behind the character. He also looked at the Dracula armored used by Alucard in Hellsing, and even turned to the Nazgûl in the Lord of the Rings for further reference.

:iconmalchiorofnol: chose
to draw Dracula in the raiment Vlad the Impaler wore during his lifetime in the 15th Century, including his fur-trimmed coat and high leather boots. It is a little known fact that Count Dracula was an avid outdoors-man, and a lover of hunting and falconry in the lush forests of his homeland.

:iconredhunterz: gave the design of his Dracula
an inspiration from two animated movie characters like Gru from Despicable Me and Dracula from Hotel Transylvania, so he thought he'd made him a bit different, giving him red eyes, bat nose, black hair with gray streaks next to his ears, and his outfit he wearing a red shirt with tie and a black cloak. He was going to do the legs but he thought it would be better if he walked just like that.

:iconazure-arts:
thought his design to just be a mix up of Count Dracula of media with Vlad Tepes the Impaler and a tap of Igarashi (Creator of Castlevania). In his opinion, it's rare that anyone going of the Tepes treatment.

:iconkevinlooneytralee:'s inspiration came from
when he both watched Doctor Strange movie and comics, he wondered what if he become Dracula in Marvel Universe. So he designed Dracula as Super Villain with the ability to drain all people's life energy. He can also do teleportation like Nightcrawler and a Healing Factor like Wolverine. For this design, he made his suit black, gave him chest armor with a purple gem on it, along with a dark red cape, gloves and boots.

:iconmegadrivesonic:'s Dracula is in his usual cartoony style, along with being given a
cartoon bat sidekick because why not? LOL

:iconro-thegoat:
took most of their inspiration for redesigning Dracula from Nosferatu, his first on-screen interpretation. But they added other famous features like Legosi's cape, Christopher Lee's facial structure and the facial hair of his original book version. And they also exaggerated him to the Max, making him as creepy and monstrous as possible while still being recognizable as Dracula.

EDIT: Added Ro-thegoat to the compilation.

EDIT 2: Updated my Dracula design.
