*It was late morning in the Digital World. Pantramon was hanging out with the troops around the breakfast table, telling them about how she regained her rank amongst them*

Pantramon: So as it turned out, Renamon planned the whole thing.

Soldier 1: Whoa, you must've been pissed!

Pantramon: The old me would've been, but I know she was just trying to teach this old cat a new trick.

Soldier 1: Oh, okay.

Soldier 2: Like it matters. Since the first day we came here, not a damn thing has happened, other than Renamon's pregnancy, and you breaking my arm.

Pantramon: I said I was sorry.

*Just then, General Stanford and Pegasusmon entered the room. The soldiers quickly stood up and saluted*

Soldier 1: General Stanford, sir!

*Pantramon quickly looked up from her meal and then quickly stood up as well*

General Stanford: At ease, men.

Pegasusmon: No need to salute, Pantramon. You're a general, too.

Pantramon: *chokes on her bite of food for a second and coughs* Pardon?

Pegasusmon: Well, Lieutenant General to be exact. You're now my second in command.

Pantramon: Dios Mio! I-I-I don't know what to say. *pause* Thank you.

General Stanford: It was Renamon's decision, not ours.

Pantramon: Well, it's still a great honor.

Soldier 2: Sir, nothing has happened since we arrived, so does this new ranking really mean anything?

Pegasusmon: It means that she be serving directly under me.

General Stanford: Soldier, we made a promise to an old friend. Yes, the Game Master hasn't been heard from in a good while, but it doesn't mean he's gone forever. He may be planning his next move, even as we speak. Or have you forgotten what you learned in Afghanistan?

Soldier 2: *shakes his head* N-N-No, no, sir.

General Stanford: Good to hear.

Pantramon: Carry on, soldier.

Soldier 2: Yes, m'am. *sits down*

Pantramon: *turns to Stanford and Pegasusmon* So, what should I be doing now?

Pegasusmon: I'll be needing you to help me discuss the defense plans for the castle. We don't want another war on our hands.

Pantramon: Right, of course. *picks up her plate* We can talk it over breakfast.

General Stanford: *nods* Alright, men, if you're done eating, I'll need you all out on the front lawn, pronto!

Soldiers: Sir, yes, sir!

*Meanwhile, inside his secret lair, the Game Master was overlooking the manufacturing of EMP rifles, along with Elisa, Doctor Cranium, and General Kaiser*

Elisa: Wow, those are a lot of guns.

Game Master: Yes…all with intent on scrambling a Digimon's programming, rendering them completely useless.

Doctor Cranium: Yes, it was quite fortunate for us to be able to retrieve the data on the rifle. Even if we had to deal with a dangerous mercenary in order to do so.

Elisa: *raises an eyebrow* W-What?

General Kaiser: In order to get the plans for such a valuable weapon, the Game Master paid a handsome some to the famous Madam K.G.B.

Game Master: What can I say, Elisa? That woman knows how to get the job done.

Elisa: But sir, she's a mercenary. That's the last kind of person I expect you to deal with. I know times are desperate, but still-

Game Master: That's enough out of you, Elisa!

Elisa: But sir-

Game Master: General, when do you think the rifles will be ready?

General Kaiser: At this rate, within the next three hours.

Game Master: Good.

Doctor Cranium: But sir, they're being protected by human soldiers! What do you intend to do about them?

General Kaiser: I say we mow them down just the same. In my opinion, humans that support Digimon are just as bad as Digimon.

Game Master: You took the words right out of my mouth. Our artillery should handle their fire power. You did know which game to borrow them from, don't you?

General Kaiser: Well sir, there were so many to choose from. So I decided to pick different characters from most of your collection.

Game Master: Good, good. As soon as they're ready, we begin the raid on the palace! *clenches his hands* They're about to get PWN'D!!

*Meanwhile, in some unknown portion of the Digital World, Trenchcoat walked along a cliff ledge to a cave entrance. Once inside, she looked around*

Trenchcoat: Okay, I'm here old friend.

*Just then, from out of the shadows of the cave, a single Shamanmon walked out*

Shamanmon: Ah, she who travels worlds as returned for my guidance.

Trenchcoat: Yes. I need to know if you've had any new visions.

Shamanmon: *raises his club into the air and begins to twirl it around* I see the palace, her highness is glowing with health. But there is something wrong, a dimensional error.

Trenchcoat: What kind of error?

Shamanmon: I see towering tanks, airships, and metal men, carrying large white guns. The visions of these strange soldiers are coming thick and fast.

Trenchcoat: What is their purpose?

Shamanmon: *stops twirling his club around and looks at Trenchcoat in fear* To destroy our world.

Trenchcoat: Oh no, I have to tell someone.

Shamanmon: If you must, hurry! Their target is the palace!

*Moments later, Trenchcoat teleports herself into the castle and starts running to the main hall. Just then, two soldiers, who were in her way, aimed their guns at her*

Soldier 1: Stop right there!

Soldier 2: Identify yourself!

Trenchcoat: Friend to the throne! *teleports behind the soldiers and keeps running*

Soldier 1: *turns and looks in confusion* Uh...whatever you say, m'am.

*Soon, Trenchcoat entered the main hall. There, Renamon was in the middle of her Lamaze lesson with Asondi when the two drop what they are doing and turn their attention to Trenchcoat*

Asondi: Who is this?

Renamon: Trenchcoat, what are you doing here?

Trenchcoat: You're in terrible danger.

Renamon: What do you mean?

Trenchcoat: There's going to be an attack on the palace! It's going to be massive!

Asondi: Oh dear!

Renamon: When is this attack going to happen?

Trenchcoat: Today.

*Later, Trenchcoat and Renamon were explaining the attack to General Stanford, Pantramon, and Pegasusmon inside the situation room*

Pegasusmon: Today?! Are you sure?

Trenchcoat: My sources are very reliable. He would steer me wrong.

Pegasusmon: Shamanmon, of course.

General Stanford: I'll alert my regiment and prepare to defend the palace, Renamon.

Renamon: Thank you, Stanford.

Pantramon: And don't you worry, I've already put the palace on lock-down. No one gets in or out.

Renamon: That's good to hear. We need to keep the palace secure.

Pegasusmon: Let's just hope they do not attack any time soon.

*Just then, after hearing the news, the soldiers and Digimon begin preparing to defend the castle. Tanks rolled out in single file, helicopters hovered in the air, and soldiers hid behind stone walls and within trenches, aiming their guns, in case of an attack*

Pantramon: *guiding the troops* Move it! Move it! I want to see enough fire power out here to make Godzilla soil himself. Do I make myself clear?

Frigimon: Yes, m'am!

Owlmon: Hoo! Of course!

Pantramon: And where are my secret Ninjamon ambush squad?

*Just then, several Ninjamon flipped out from the shadows and landed in front of Pantramon, bowing*

Pantramon: Take tactical positions around the palace. I don't even want the Game Master asking for a cup of sugar.

Ninjamon Squad: Hai!! *jump away to their positions*

*Just then, General Stanford riding atop Pegasusmon landed in front of Pantramon and her troops*

Pegasusmon: Are we all set?

Pantramon: *turns to Stanford and Pegasusmon* Everything is in position.

General Stanford: Good, my men are armed and ready to defend the castle. *chuckles* I'd like to see this Game Master's army!

Pegasusmon: Don't chuckle too soon, Stanford, we must never underestimate our enemy.

General Stanford: Well said, partner.

Pegasusmon: Stanford and I will lead the air squadron the first minute we see an enemy aircraft. As you were, Pantramon. *flies off into the air with Stanford*

Pantramon: *nods and turns to her troops* Alright! Let's get ready. We don't know when this attack will be, so let's be ready now!

Soldier 1: *looking through binoculars* Tanks coming in from the northwest!!

Pantramon: Let me see. *takes the binoculars and spots the tanks* On the ready!

*Soon, all the soldiers and Digimon could see a horde of tanks and airships out on the horizon, slowly heading toward them. The tanks were massive. Their guns laid atop revolving turret towers which could aim at any angle. They were Scorpion Tanks from HALO. The airships flew through the air with three engines keeping them aloft. They were UNSC Aircraft Units, also from HALO*

Soldier 2: Damn, they're huge!!

Owlmon: I don't see any soldiers.

Soldier 3: Let me see. *looks through binoculars* I see them…they're robots, and they're carrying huge white guns!

Pantramon: What kind of guns?

Soldier 3: I'm not sure, never seen them before.

*Soon, several tall, silver, humanoid robots were seen marching towards the castle, carrying EMP rifles in their hands*

Mothmon: They look like the EMP rifles we were warned about!

Owlmon: What? But I thought the blueprints were destroyed!!

Soldier 2: Well, it looks like someone made copies.

*Up in the air, Stanford and Pegasusmon hovered in front of their squadron of helicopters, Pteramon, and Birdramon, waiting for the enemy to make the first move*

General Stanford: This reminds me of the good old days…

Pegasusmon: Same here, old friend.

General Stanford: Yeah, but back then, we were outnumbered. Now, we got the advantage.

*Suddenly, a giant hologram of the Game Master's head and shoulders materialized on the battlefield*

Game Master: HELLO DIGIMON!!!

Pantramon: GAME MASTER!!!

Game Master: Well, there goes my introduction! Thanks a lot!! Anyway, how are y'all doin'?

Pegasusmon: You have some real nerve showing your mug around here.

Game Master: Oh, put a sock in it, pony boy! So, what do you think of my army? They're on loan from HALO. Damn, that game series knows how to make some good weapons!

General Stanford: So, is that what you're reduced to, stealing weapons from video games instead of making your own?

Game Master: *mockingly* Instead of making your own? Mah, mah, mah! Anyway, you should talk, siding with these freaks and monsters!

Pegasusmon: At least we care about the people we fight for.

Game Master: *laughs* Oh, come on! That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Anyway, with my army of tanks, robots, and EMP rifles, you'll lose in about…two minutes, give or take a second.

Pantramon: We'll see about that. *turns to the soldiers and Digimon* First wave, open fire!

Soldier 2: No! Stanford's orders were to attack only if we're attacked first!

Owlmon: He is correct, madam, we don't want to prove the Game Master right.

Game Master: However, I'd be happy to call off the attack…if you surrender your queen to me. If not, then prepare for de-resolution!

Pantramon: *growls* Two things. One, It's not in my nature to just wait for an attack. Two, we'll never surrender the queen.

Soldier 1: No, Stanford gave us orders not to attack, unless attacked first!

Owlmon: Do you want to lose more than your tail?

Pantramon: You don't understand, I finally have a reason to fight. I am fighting for Renamon, if you agree with me that our queen is worth fighting for, than let's get busy busting heads already instead of waiting for him to.

Game Master: *yawns* Okay, I'm getting bored, so what's your answer?

Pegasusmon: We have our differences, but I agree with Pantramon. It's no deal.

Game Master: You know…I knew you'd say something corny like that. *sighs* Very well. General Kaiser, you may fire when ready. Game Master, out! *disappears*

General Stanford: General? *spies General Kaiser on a tank through his binoculars* Sylvester Stallone?

General Kaiser: All units, open fire!!

*Suddenly, the Game Master's tanks, airships, and robots opened fire on the palace*

General Stanford: Holy- *takes out his walkie-talkie* Fire at will!!

Pantramon: GIVE THEM HELL!!!

*At the same time, the military's artillery, soldiers, and the Digimon open fire on the Game Master's army*

Pantramon: *charges in toward the robot soldiers* Mayan Backlash!! *starts kicking off their heads*

General Kaiser: *pulls out an EMP rifle* This will teach you to be scared of us!! *fires at Pantramon*

Pantramon: *gets hit in the leg* Gah!! *lands on the ground, clutching her leg* How bad is it? *lifts her hand to see damaged data* Damn.

General Kaiser: All EMP units, fire at the injured panther Digimon!!

*Pantramon smirks and lets out a loud whistle. Suddenly, the robot soldiers are bombarded with shurikens*

Pantramon: Gotta love those Ninjamon.

Soldier 3: *looks through his binoculars* Pantramon's injured!!

Soldier 2: Then let's help her.

Owlmon: Allow me!! *flies out toward Pantramon*

General Stanford: *using his walkie-talkie* All tank units, slowly advance towards the enemy's tanks and prepare to fire!!

*The tanks begin to move and fire on the game master's tanks. But the Game Master's tanks begin to fire back as well, but with lasers*

General Stanford: *using his walkie-talkie* Choppers one, two, and three, fly down and defend our tanks!!

Pegasusmon: Pteramon one, two, and three, you do the same!!

*The choppers and Pteramon try to follow orders, but they are soon intercepted by the Game Master's airships*

Pegasusmon: Intercept the airships! Intercept the airships!!

Lead Pteramon: We're trying, they got the drop on us!!

*Just then, the airships fired a barrage of lasers at the choppers and the Pteramon, almost knocking them out of the sky*

Chopper Pilot 1: Firing missiles!! *presses a button*

*The first helicopter fires two missiles at one of the airships, damaging it's side, but not heavily*

Chopper Pilot 1: Target is hit, but is still air born!

Pteramon 2: Missile Storm!! *fires a barrage of missiles at the airships*

Chopper Pilot 2: Yee haw!! That's showing them!!

Lead Pteramon: But that was only a small dent in their air defense.

*Back on the ground, Owlmon finally made it to the injured Pantramon*

Pantramon: Whatever you're going to do, do it quick.

Owlmon: The medical officers will take care of that leg of yours. *picks up Pantramon and flies her to the castle*

Pantramon: This is embarrassing…

*Inside the castle, Renamon was being escorted to a safe room by d'Arcmon*

d'Arcmon: Don't worry, your highness, you'll be safe.

Renamon: But what about you?

d'Arcmon: I'll be out on the battlefield the moment you're in the safe room.

*Suddenly, footsteps were heard down the hall*

Renamon: *growls* Someone's coming!

*A shadow appears down the corridor. The figure began to get closer. Once the figure came upon them, it was revealed to be Asondi*

Asondi: I got trapped when the palace went into lock down.

Renamon: *breathes a sigh of relief* Asondi, stay with me and you'll be safe.

Asondi: Thank you, your highness.

Renamon: Though I myself wish to fight out there…but for the sake of my baby, we'll stay in the safe room.

d'Arcmon: Let's get going, you two. *leads Renamon and Asondi to the safe room*

*Back out in the battlefield, a squad of Knightmon and some soldiers tried to push back against the robotic infantry*

Soldier 1: Keep pushing!! *fires off his machine gun*

Knightmon 1: We're trying. They're tough for a bunch of scarp parts. *suddenly gets hit by a barrage of EMPs and dissolves into data*

Knightmon 2: Fall back!! Fall back!!

*The Game Master's tanks begin breaking through the front lines, crushing everything in their wake*

*Meanwhile, Trenchcoat and Shamanmon watched the battle from atop a cliff ledge*

Trenchcoat: You're vision came to pas, Shamanmon. But there's one thing you didn't tell me.

Shamanmon: What is that?

Trenchcoat: How does it end?

Shamanmon: Look to the sky and you shall see soon enough.

*Trenchcoat looked up to the sky saw a vast amount of large clouds covering the sky. But the strange thing was, it seemed alive as it avoided blocking the sun*

Trenchcoat: The ancient ones, have they awakened?

Shamanmon: *nods* They have, indeed.

*A large thick fog started to roll into the battlefield covering up the side controlled by the Game master's forces. The fog seemed to screw up the radar and the robot's sensors, leaving them blind*

General Kaiser: Let's hope I can still make a call. *presses a button and calls the Game Master* Sir, we have a situation.

Game Master: *on the other line* What's going on?

General Kaiser: Sir, some kind of fog has appeared and left us blind. This is no ordinary cloud, it's causing some sort of interference with our equipment.

Lead Robot: We have no radar, no weapons guidance, we can barely even see.

Game Master: *on the other line* Don't you dare give up on me, General! You're so close to the castle!!

Lead Robot: We'll try, but it's impossible to which way the cast...

*Suddenly, a giant hand came down from the sky and crushed the robot, some other robot soldiers and even two tanks*

General Stanford: JESUS CHRIST!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!

Pegasusmon: I don't know, but we can only hope it's on our side.

Game Master: *on the other line* Damn it!!

*The other robots witness the sight and back away in fear. Then they are swept away by a stream on a dark purple fluid that began to eat away at them and any tank that got caught up in the toxic flood*

Game Master: General, fall back!! Fall back!!

General Kaiser: At once, sir! *radios the tanks and airships* All units, retreat!! Retreat!!

*The robots and tanks began to fall back, when suddenly a giant mouth raises up out of the ground and shallows most of the troops. The airships are greeted by a storm of blades that rains down on them and makes them crash to earth*

General Kaiser: Activate the teleporter!! Get us out of here!!

Robot: Yes sir! *activates the teleporter and teleports the remaining robot troops out*

General Stanford: *in awe* Did…we win?

Pegasusmon: I think we did.

*The human soldiers and the remaining Digimon cheer in victory as the fog and whatever beings in it left. All that remained was the wreckage they left behind*

General Stanford: Back to the palace!

*The soldiers and Digimon made their way back to palace grounds*

*Later that day, while everyone was being treated, Renamon, d'Arcmon, and Pantramon inspected the battle sight. Pantramon's leg was covered up by an electronic cast*

Renamon: How is your leg, Pantramon?

Pantramon: Better now, the doctor says I'll be kicking asses within the week. I'm just sorry I missed whatever you guys did to cause this much damage so fast.

d'Arcmon: We didn't do this, something else did.

Renamon: But what, exactly?

Pantramon: Whatever it was, it was huge. *looks over at a downed airship that seemed to have a large blade like feather sticking out* Hate to see the pigeon that came from.

Renamon: Let's just be thankful that the fight is over. *starts walking back to the palace*

d'Arcmon: *pause* The Ancient Ones...*smiles*

*Meanwhile, within his secret lair, Elisa tries to comfort a sulking Game Master*

Elisa: It's okay, it's okay. It's not your fault what happened.

Game Master: Oh, shut up. I was cheated my high score!! Damn Digital Monsters always one upping me!

Elisa: I know, I know. But my mom always said there's no use crying over spilled milk. What's done is done.

Game Master: Screw your mom and her dumb ass sayings!! To a gamer like me, this is an act of war!! *sighs* But after an attack like that, I can't go anywhere near that palace. Looks like I'll just have to focus solely on the Heroes until I can figure out what that fog was.

Elisa: But how are you going to fight the heroes? They have the entire human public on their side.

Game Master: I know…*eyes widen* But what if I were to give them a new kind of threat? *smiles* Ooh hoo!! I like this idea! *types away at his computer*

Elisa: Sir, what are you thinking?

Game Master: Nuh uh, I ain't ruining the surprise!

Elisa: Okay, sir. *thinking* Just worried about what kind of surprise you're talking about.

The Ancient ones? Hm, interesting.
